This film screening is being rescheduled to July in response to COVID 19 health advisories. We are pleased to announce that Filmmakers, Sophie and Clement Guerra, will be in Eugene on that date to attend the screening and for the Q&A afterward! The Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene is proud to host this free screening of The Condor & The Eagle. The film begins at 7:00pm and will be followed by a Q&A. Refreshments will be provided. This event is open to the public. In this epic, award-winning documentary, four Indigenous leaders travel from the Canadian Plains to the heart of the Amazonian jungle to unite the peoples of North and South America in climate justice. The Condor & The Eagle offers a glimpse into a developing spiritual renaissance as the film’s four protagonists learn from each other’s long legacy of resistance to colonialism and its extractive economy. Their path through the jungle takes them on an unexpectedly challenging and liberating journey, which will forever change their attachment to the Earth and one another. UUMFE has a goal of holding as many community film screenings on World Water Day as possible. These screenings will be opening celebrations for Spring for Change: A Season of Sacred Activism and benefit events to catalyze UU Indigenous frontline solidarity through the Create Climate Justice initiative.
